Should the appropriate setting of keyword density put you on page one? Well, not so on its own but it can help. Keyword density can increase your luck but only if it is done right. Over doing it can make you look like a spammer but too little will confuse the search engines and it may select a different word to rank you with. Just how should you go about this anyway? We all would like the answer.
Trying to fiqure what keyword density you need takes a bit of trial and error. You will here people say that 5% of your content should be your keyword density while varies webmasters promote 8% to 16%. I have also heard the explanation of using your keywords once for every one hundred words you use. I could type all afternoon and relay you what some people believe but the only ones that truely know are the creaters of the search engines themselves. You can try to ask them if you like but I really do not believe that they would tell you. How search engines algorithms works is a highly guarded secret. It has to be or webmasters would build their websites the exact same way just screwing up the results for all.
I have seen website owners use shady tricks like putting there keywords in on the lower part of the page fool the search engines. This is something you should not do because it only works for a brief moment and then you get sent to the back of the line. Others have use their ALT tags in the image box for keyword stuffing. This may boost your keyword density but it will hurt you in the long run.
It seems like search engines read keyword density in 2 separate forms. How much the words are grouped sibe by side and how much the words can be found separately. To see this for yourself the next time you type in a keyword phrase look at someones page in the “cached” section. There you will find words for the search phrase highlighted where ever it can be found in text. It looks like if the keyword phrase is together then you get a little better result. Especially when you have it grouped in your mega title and mega description. But it still will not let you know whether or not it is too much or not enough.
Between you and me, I would not spend so much about keyword density. More infosys is carried by one way backlinks that are linked from your keywords to your website. Just make sure you use your keyword phrase on your website from time to time and build your links. Keyword density is not a major part and will not by itself put you first on search results unless the keyword phrase is not that heavily competed for. But what is the big deal of being first on results if no one is typing it in the search engines.
