PLR material (Private Label Rights) may be a very good resource for anyone trying to get ahead in the online marketing world. Not only can PLR ebooks and PLR articles be picked up for a quite small price; they also are valuable because most of the research and writing has already been done for you.
But PLR articles and e-books may be unsafe. For many online business owners realize the value of PLR products and are using it as much as they can. In real figures, the same PLR articles and PLR ebooks may have been sold to hundreds or even thousands of customers, who then may have posted the material on their sites, with or without changing it considerably.
How to succeed with PLR
The key to making money with PLR ebooks and articles is therefore this: you must plan to rewrite every PLR article and ebook so that it becomes really different. If you follow that tip, you will lessen the possibility of being penalized by the search engines. Having exclusive content will at all times be a good thing as seen from the point of view of the search engine robots.
Another reason is, naturally, the visitors: who likes to come to a new website and take part of the exact same article as on one of the competing sites? So even though the search engine robots very well might have overlooked a duplicate or near-duplicate article or e-book, your visitor may perhaps not be quite as tolerant. To serve your customers well, adequately rewritten articles and ebooks are simply a must.
Yet another reason for rewriting may be this: no one thinks exactly like you. So you may discover that the PLR e-book or article] that you just acquired didn’t cover all the premises that you would have liked it to cover. Or maybe the writing style was not what you would have anticipated? Or maybe there were some incorrect “facts” in it? Whatever the case may be, you must plan for some intense editing of the PLR ebook or article to make it better suit the needs of you and your customers.
Here, then, are six ideas on how to modify your PLR ebook or article so that it might serve you and your customers better:
Alter the title
Sometimes PLR materials have ill-suited titles. Hence, you may want to adjust it into a title which is more to the point. For good search engine optimization (SEO), you should be especially careful to go for the correct title.
Note, however, that even though the PLR title is NOT badly chosen, you may still have to change it, to make it truly unique. In any case, you may want to play around with Google’s free keyword tool to see which title could be most fitting.
Reorganize paragraphs
One way to “rewrite” a PLR article or ebook is just to reorganize the paragraphs in the manuscript. By putting one paragraph before another, the general flow of the article (or ebook) might become significantly better. And the beauty of this method is that there is no actual typing involved!
Delete paragraphs
Another way to “rewrite” a PLR article or ebook would be to simply delete one or more paragraphs. Sometimes (especially in low-quality PLR material) there could be a lot of fluff that simply isn’t possible to keep, if one is aiming for a high-quality e-book or article.
Alter paragraphs
This is a procedure by which you in essence keep the same basic ideas in the paragraph, but you express them differently. Instead of holding on to the text “PLR articles are articles that have Private Label Rights”, you could rewrite like this: “PLR texts are electronic texts that give the owner Private Label Rights.”
Extend paragraphs
Although expanding a paragraph surely is a way to rewrite a paragraph (and thus could potentially be a part of the previous point), I nonetheless wish to keep this idea as a separate point. It is by this method that you can make your PLR article or ebook even more unique, and substantially more helpful to your customers.
By extending an article I mean expanding its exact content. You could, for instance, add new points, new reasons, new arguments, new questions, or new data.
Such an extension may now and then result in very long paragraphs, so you might want to consider splitting up the longer paragraphs into several shorter ones. This is only an advantage, for it makes your ebook or article even less of a duplicate of the original PLR material.
Put in Related Links
Some PLR content packs include useful links and keywords that were used to create the content. In some cases you might want to use those links in your articles and ebooks. In other cases you might decide to use your own product links or your own affiliate links to make more money.
Be very careful, however, with relevance. Do not add links that are not related to the main text. For example, in an article on how to steam meat, don’t incorporate an affiliate link to your “solar power” product or to some other article on, say, your expertise as a dolphin trainer. Be relevant!
Some final remarks
It is true that PLR articles and ebooks may boost your online income if done properly. One step toward success is to be very cautious to rewrite the articles and ebooks in such a way that they end up being not only unique but also valuable to your potential customers.
Adding other components to your e-book or article, such as graphics or videos, may make your visitors even more delighted. So give your articles and ebooks the personal touch your readers may be searching for, and then wait for conversions!
